Summerfruit Australia Limited (SAL) is a nationally recognised peak industry body representing Australia's fresh produce sector for peaches, nectarines, apricots and plums. Our mission is to champion growers, strengthen industry resilience, and influence policy that supports a sustainable and competitive future. As we enter our next phase of growth, we are seeking a dynamic and developing CEO who brings energy, credibility, and a deep understanding of the fresh produce landscape.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging leader ready to step into a CEO role or a seasoned professional. You will guide the organisation's strategic direction, represent the Summerfruit industry at state and federal levels, and build strong, trusted relationships with growers, supply‐chain partners, and stakeholders across Australia and Internationally.
You'll be hands‐on, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the organisation's strategy, operations, and advocacy agenda
* Represent the Summerfruit industry in government consultations, policy discussions, and industry forums
* Build strong relationships with growers across regions and understand their on‐farm realities
* Oversee governance, financial management, and reporting to the Board
* Drive industry development initiatives, research priorities, and market access programs
* Manage external partners to deliver high‐value outcomes
* Manage a small, high‐performing team and foster a collaborative culture
* Balance competing priorities and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams
About You
You are a motivated and capable leader who is ready to step up. You bring a blend of industry knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and the drive to make a meaningful impact.
* Experience in the fresh produce or broader agriculture/horticulture sector
* Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government, regulators, and policymakers
* Strong communication and relationship‐building skills, particularly with growers
* Proven ability to multitask, prioritise, and operate confidently in a fast‐moving environment
* Strategic thinking with a hands‐on, practical approach
* High integrity, sound judgement, and a commitment to industry advancement
