The Claims Specialist provides guidance, support, and coaching to claims staff on technical and legal aspects of the claims management process. This involves providing detailed information and advice to the business regarding Legislative changes, legal precedents and recommendations for procedural enhancements and updates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice, training and mentoring to staff in respect of legislation and claims management procedures.
- Advise Consultants, Workers Compensation Claims to ensure all claims are progressing appropriately to closure.
- Offer technical expertise and strategies to stakeholders in respect of claims management.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers and other key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Build and manage productive relationships with business partners.
- Manage complex Workers Compensation claims effectively.
- Analyse statistical data for claims trends.
- Interpret and communicate changes in workers compensation case law & legislation.
- Conduct technical Training needs analysis, coaching and facilitation.
- Demonstrate sound judgement and decision making skills.
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Law or Insurance (desired).
- Possess knowledge of the Workers Compensation & Injury Management system, procedures and legislation (desired).
