About The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of Australia's most iconic environmental campaigns. As Campaign Coordinator, you will drive the Restore Pedder campaign — a movement to return Tasmania's legendary Lake Pedder, along with the Huon and Serpentine Valleys, to its original, breathtaking form. Reporting to Convenor Christine Milne AO, you'll combine creative campaigning, political intelligence, and community building to turn a decades-long dream into reality.

About Lake Pedder Restoration Inc.
We are a passionate, volunteer-driven non-government organisation headquartered in Hobart, Tasmania. Backed by leading scientists, artists, adventurers, and conservationists, our mission is to secure government agreement to restore Lake Pedder — one of the world's great lost ecosystems. The Campaign Coordinator and Campaigner are the only paid roles in the organisation; everything else runs on dedication and love for this extraordinary place.
About You
You are a passionate campaigner who believes restoration is possible — and that you can help make it happen. You bring energy, optimism, and a track record of getting things done. You understand that winning campaigns require both creative flair and strategic discipline, and you thrive in environments where no two days look the same.
You will bring:
* A deep passion for ecological restoration and specifically for the restoration of Lake Pedder
* A proven track record delivering successful advocacy or public campaigns
* Experience in fundraising, event planning, and executing to a high standard
* Skill and confidence in managing and inspiring volunteers from diverse backgrounds
* Exceptional written and verbal communication — from media releases to stakeholder emails
* Sharp organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
* Resourcefulness and lateral thinking — adapting quickly when plans need to change
* Social media and digital savvy, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences professionally
* The confidence and poise to represent Lake Pedder Restoration Inc. at public events and in the media
* The ability to work independently and proactively, and to contribute as a genuine team player
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Public Campaign
Drive all public-facing campaigning to raise the profile of Lake Pedder's restoration across Tasmania, Australia, and internationally — through direct actions, events, and media engagement.
2. Manage Fundraising, Political Strategy & Partnerships
Secure the resources and political support necessary to win government agreement to restore Lake Pedder.
3. Build Digital Communications
Grow and engage the membership and supporter base through compelling digital content and campaigns.
Key Deliverables
Campaign Leadership
* Coordinate the annual Paddle for Pedder Commemoration (March) — in the Southwest Wilderness and nationally
* Deliver high-impact virtual and in-person events that build public support and momentum
* Proactively engage media, influencers, and cultural figures to amplify the campaign
* Lead and inspire the Public Campaign Team — including creatives, artists, and adventurers — to produce compelling events, films, and communications
Fundraising & Partnerships
* Identify and secure philanthropic contributions, crowdfunding, and grant funding to sustain the campaign
* Develop and manage a partnership program showcasing business and NGO support for restoration
* Coordinate political strategy to build support across Federal and State levels, leveraging election cycles
* Work with academics to develop and communicate the evidence base for restoration
Digital & Communications
* Grow engagement across digital channels with audiences in Australia and around the world
* Develop and maintain the campaign's online presence, social media channels, and email communications
Governance Support
* Support the Convenor in running the Lake Pedder Restoration Inc. Committee, including quarterly Management and General Committee meetings
Selection Criteria

* Appropriate graduate qualifications and experience in an environmental field — science, law, arts, or related discipline
* Demonstrated experience in environmental campaign management
* Experience in political lobbying and stakeholder engagement
* Proven ability to scope, manage, and document complex projects to a high standard, on time and within budget
* Strong track record securing funding through tenders, grants, or project proposals
* Understanding of (or ability to quickly learn) tax and legal compliance obligations relevant to a registered environmental charitable organisation (ATO, ACNC, REO)
* Demonstrated success working with a board of management and across multidisciplinary teams
* High-level analytical and strategic thinking capability
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences
