About the Internship
Woolpert Australia is offering a Geospatial Internship opportunity through RMIT's Work‐Integrated Learning (WIL) program. This unpaid placement provides students with practical experience in a multidisciplinary environment, integrating academic learning with real‐world applications.
What You'll Gain
As a Geospatial Intern, you will:
* Observe and participate in daily operations across multiple disciplines including Mapping Production, Surveying, GIS Advisory & Consulting.
* Attend meetings and gain exposure to corporate functions such as Human Resources, Safety, Quality, and Finance.
* Develop hands‐on skills in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), spatial data analysis, and map creation.
* Engage with real‐world projects to observe professional practices and gain insights into how geospatial technologies are applied in industry settings.
* Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced team members to support your learning and professional development goals of the Work Integrated Learning placement.
Key Activities
* Observe and assist with spatial data workflows, including data collection, entry, and maintenance, under the guidance of experienced staff – contributing to learning objectives aligned with academic outcomes.
* Learn and apply GIS concepts through supervised use of tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS, with a focus on developing analytical and visualisation skills.
* Participate in team discussions and meetings, gaining exposure to multidisciplinary projects and professional practices.
