Looking for a hands-on career where you can work outdoors, solve problems, and make a real impact in your community? As a Lineworker Apprentice with Western Power in Jurien Bay, you'll help power local homes and businesses - all while enjoying life in one of WA's most scenic seaside towns.

What Does a Lineworker Do?

Lineworkers build, maintain, and repair the overhead powerlines that supply electricity across WA. You'll work outdoors in a team, doing physical, hands-on tasks like:

* Installing and maintaining powerlines
* Climbing poles or using elevated work platforms
* Replacing poles, conductors, and transformers
* Safely isolating and switching the network
* Assisting with power restoration after storms or faults


About the Apprenticeship

This 4-year program combines:

* On-the-job training alongside experienced Lineworkers
* Classroom-based learning to develop technical skills

By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll gain a nationally recognised trade qualification and be ready for a long-term career in the energy industry.


Who We're Looking For

We're seeking motivated, safety-focused individuals who enjoy active work and want to build a meaningful career.

You'll need to:

* Have completed Year 11 (including passes in English and Maths)
* Hold a WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence
* Be 18+ by 9 February 2026
* Communicate well and work in a team
* Show strong work ethic and commitment to safety


A Certificate III pre-apprenticeship is a bonus, but not essential.


What to Expect

The recruitment process includes:

* Psychometric testing and interview
* Literacy and numeracy assessment
* Medical, drug and alcohol screening
