Role Description
We are currently seeking Fire Safety or Services Engineers to join our team. We welcome applications from both experienced professionals and emerging engineers beginning their careers in the fire safety field.
This is an either full-time or part-time role for an Intermediate Fire Engineer based in Brisbane, QLD or Melbourne, VIC. The work primarily involves preparing fire reports, consulting calls with site visits and inspections, and the remaining work is Work From Home. The Fire Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing fire safety strategies and systems. Day‐to‐day tasks include coordinating with clients and stakeholders, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing fire protection and life safety solutions. Additionally, the Fire Engineer will be involved in construction site visits and providing expertise on fire alarm or suppression systems.
Qualifications
* A degree (or near completion) in Fire Safety, Mechanical, Structural, or related engineering discipline
* An interest or experience in Fire and Life Safety Engineering
* Strong knowledge (or developing knowledge) of the NCC/BCA, New Zealand/Australian Standards, and local fire safety legislation
* A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
* Familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools is desirableSkilled in Process Safety Engineering is beneficial
* Strong communication and project management skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently
* Experience in the construction and consultancy sectors is beneficial
About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering high‐quality fire safety engineering services across a wide variety of building projects. Your responsibilities will include:
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. This is a MUST!
* Working on Queensland or Victoria based projects.
* Preparing performance‐based fire safety design documentation, including:
* Performance solutions
* Fire safety declarations and certificates
* Site inspections during and after construction phases
* Conducting fire safety consultancy across diverse sectors
* Reviewing architectural and services documentation for BCA and regulatory compliance
* Developing innovative, practical engineering solutions to complex fire safety challenges
* Engaging with clients, design teams, and approval authorities to support design outcomes
* Performing fire engineering analysis including smoke, egress, and evacuation modelling
