The role:
We are seeking motivated Domestic Services Officers to join our team in providing an efficient and safe service working across the Mersey Community Hospital. These roles will predominately sit within linen and waste management, and experience with lifting/pulling/pushing/manoeuvring heavy items will be considered highly desirable.
A successful Domestic Services Officer will:
1. Undertake physically demanding tasks involving linen and waste in a safe and productive way.
2. Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in ward and ancillary areas in accordance with established policies, standards and guidelines while maintaining patient confidentiality.
3. Provide a domestic service, including infection control cleaning across wards, office and residences.
4. Follow universal precautions when conducting infection control cleaning of cytotoxic and sterile areas.

The team:
5. The hospital operates 24/7 and hours will be rostered according to business needs at the time of appointment.
6. The Domestic Services teams are dynamic, passionate and committed to achieving high levels of compliance according to Infection Control guidelines.
7. All training is completed 'on the job'. Previous healthcare experience not essential. A good knowledge of cleaning practices, ability to undertake physically demanding tasks, and pride in your work however will be welcomed.
8. You will be supported with manual handling training and equipment on the job, but a commitment to ensuring follow through with best manual handling practice is key.
9. Availability for overnight shift (10pm-6am) will be required on an ad hoc basis.

Multiple permanent, part time, shift-worker positions available, commencing early October.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
10. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $53,850 - $56,031 pro rata, per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
11. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022
