The Opportunity As the Director of Business Development for HomeGround Canberra, you will play a key senior leadership role, driving strategic growth, strengthening partnerships with landlords and industry stakeholders, and leading the agency’s commercial performance across the ACT. This opportunity will see you be instrumental in positioning HomeGround as a trusted provider of high-quality property management services that delivers real social impact. Lead the agency with full ownership and vision—this is your chance to shape a purpose-driven enterprise and be recognised as the leader who made a real difference Enjoy genuine work-life balance with no weekend work, flexible work from home options, paid Christmas shutdown, and still maintain a strong salary commission PBI free parking Join a values-led organisation creating meaningful change in the lives of individuals and communities Explore the full details about HomeGround and this opportunity on the candidate information page: https://bit.ly/CHCDirectorBD The Role Drive commercial growth, strategic positioning, and operational performance of HomeGround Canberra, by increasing tenancy numbers and retention Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, developers, investors, and sector partners to grow market share Lead and mentor a team of Property and Strata Managers, fostering a culture of professionalism and innovation Manage the team’s performance and deliver strategic rent roll growth through acquisition and retention, meeting annual targets Support compliance with licensing, professional standards, and regulatory obligations Contribute to CHC’s broader strategic planning and provide high-level reporting to the Executive and Board The Ideal Person You will have experience in Real Estate, Property Management or Housing sectors and have proven and substantial senior leadership experience within the sector. Holding a class 1 or 2 real estate licence, or an ability to secure such a licence once in the role, is essential. In addition, you will need: Comprehensive expertise in the real estate and rental sectors, with insight into investment trends and property management practices Well-developed leadership skills and ability to manage, lead and train staff Demonstrated business acumen, including financial management skills and sound commercial awareness Demonstrated experience in identifying key stakeholders and establishing effective relationships and rapport at all levels Sensitive to the needs of clients from highly diverse backgrounds, with a flexible worldview and emotional maturity Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to share specialist knowledge and technical skills within in a team environment Salary / Rate $140k - $160k Super Full PBI On site car park Location: Canberra Additional Benefits: Work from home flexibility, paid Christmas shutdown, no requirement to work weekends – join an organisation that promotes great work life balance How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
