The Role
This is a hybrid Business Development and Account Management role. You'll be the face of Hire A Mover in Melbourne — selling our contents handling services into insurance builders and restoration companies, earning preferred supplier status with the ones you win, and looking after the accounts you bring in.
Business Development (your primary focus)
* Open new accounts across the insurance builder, restoration, and claims ecosystem
* Proactively reach out to prospective partners via phone, email, and LinkedIn
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and new business presentations every week
* Win preferred supplier status with insurance builders and restoration companies across Melbourne
* Own your pipeline and hit ambitious growth targets
Account Management
* Coordinate jobs with our national operations team
* Be the key point of contact for your accounts
* Build trusted, long-term relationships that grow year on year
Who We're Looking For
You have 5+ years in Melbourne in a hunter sales role — BDM, National Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or Territory Manager — and your work has brought you into regular contact with insurance builders, restoration companies, loss adjusters, and insurance claims teams.
You might come from:
* An insurance building or restoration company — where you've been selling services, winning panel positions, or managing large client relationships
* A supplier selling into this industry — drying and dehumidification equipment, specialist cleaning products, claims management software, make-safe and emergency response services, or specialist trades (flooring, mould and asbestos remediation, electrical or plumbing make-safe)
* A loss adjusting or claims handling background — now working supplier-side in sales or business development
* An insurer — where you managed supplier relationships or worked within the claims supply chain
What Matters Most
You can name the decision-makers you already know at Melbourne insurance builders and restorers. You have a track record of opening new accounts from cold in the last 24 months, not just servicing a warm inbound book.
You're a genuine self-starter — comfortable running a region independently, setting your own pace, and getting out the door to make things happen without being pushed. And you bring optimistic, friendly energy to every conversation — with clients, with candidates for their business, and with our internal team. People want to work with you because you're someone they enjoy being around.
