About the Role:** We are seeking a detail orientated Project Tools/Systems Developer to join our Project Management Office (PMO). This role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate with a technical background to gather experience in project management and will support the coordination and delivery of data science and software development projects across industry, government, and academia.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Liaise with project partners and CIDS staff members to identify their technical, tool, and system requirements, and customize them according to individual project needs.
* Design, develop, and deploy custom applications using the Microsoft Power Platform suite of tools.
* Develop and optimize Power Automate workflows and processes to automate business operations.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data reporting and visualization needs, and design and develop dashboards accordingly. Analyse complex data sets to identify trends and actionable insights.
* Utilize industry-standard tools to create intuitive and user-friendly dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
* Contribute to the development and review of project management systems, tools, and practices in the CIDS, identifying opportunities for improved performance.
* Assist the PMO in building/customising in-house solutions for the CIDS team.
Who we are looking for (Selection Criteria):
1. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with 1 to 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and training.
2. Proven experience in developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
3. Expertise in automation tools such as Power Automate (Power Flow) and Power Apps, as well as scripting languages like Python and PowerShell.
4. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
5. Experience in using Jira and other relevant Atlassian software packages and plugins.
6. Some professional experience in a Project Coordination role, preferably in the support and development of scientific and/or computational projects.
7. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise reports and correspondence, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients.
8. Proficiency in computer software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and familiarity with cloud-based collaborative editing tools is advantageous.
9. Strong understanding of Agile practices and experience in stakeholder engagement, coupled with strong organizational skills, would be advantageous.

The Curtin Institute for Data Science (CIDS) is an interdisciplinary knowledge accelerator established in Our aim is to apply data science and high-performance computing to provide innovative solutions to the real-world problems of government, industry, and academia.
The Institute supports a growing network of SMEs, external organisations, government departments, researchers, co-operative research centres, and not-for-profits across various sectors such as, but not limited to, health sciences, manufacturing, transport, art and culture, astronomy, agriculture, and aquaculture. At present the Institute would typically contribute to 30-40 research projects per annum, working with over 100 external organisations.
Engaging with the Curtin Institute for Data Science means collaborating with a team of specialists who are highly trained in data science, high-performance computing, software development, project coordination and business development. The Institute has a dedicated team of over 40 specialist technical staff with diverse backgrounds in computer sciences, physics, mathematics, computational chemistry and biology, bioinformatics, and remote sensing. It also provides access to over 200 research academics drawn from across Curtin University who specialise in applications of data science in different research settings.
