Santos seeks to provide lower carbon energy over time as a global energy company with operations across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and the United States. The primary objective of the Commissioning Technician is to lead and drive excellence in Development Execution's (DevEx) commissioning and start-up activities.
This includes ensuring the integration of new skid installations, facilities, and associated infrastructure across Eastern Queensland while focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency. Key accountabilities include ensuring Company and contractor personnel comply with the Company Management System (SMS) and contractor safe work procedures.
The role demands developing and maintaining healthy relationships with the team, contractors, and other Company stakeholders. Proactive contribution to Santos' lowest cost objectives through challenging design, contractor work methods, and practices is also essential.
Minimising the risk of construction or well online schedule delays, supporting high-quality installation practices through site inspection and punch list walk down attendance, coordinating troubleshooting of control system code or logic, and coordination or participation in the Ready For Start Up (RFSU) process are all important tasks.
You bring solid experience in the oil & gas or mining industry and the technical expertise required to meet DevEx's standards. You excel in dynamic environments, work well in teams, and are focused on delivering high-quality results.
A strong safety-first mindset and a drive for continuous improvement are necessary for this role. A Queensland open electrical licence, EEHA competencies for hazardous areas, and a Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control are also required.
