Pediatrician Assistant Overview
The Central Jersey Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center in the state of New Jersey seeking a full-time Physician Assistant specializing in Pediatrics. Our mission is to provide comprehensive Pediatric services to patients regardless of their ability to pay, race, ethnicity, and cultural competence.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality healthcare efficiently and effectively to the community.
As a vital member of the Pediatrics team, led by the Director of Pediatrics, the Physician Assistant plays a crucial role in achieving organizational goals.
Main Duties
1. Assess individual and family health status, considering patient needs.
2. Secure health histories, conduct physical examinations, and screening tests.
3. Record data accurately and systematically.
4. Contribute to health education for individuals and groups, promoting personal responsibility for health.
5. Plan and implement routine care practices with medical professionals.
6. Identify and manage social, economic, and environmental factors affecting patients and their families.
7. Manage common acute and chronic illnesses according to established protocols.
8. Prescribe medications under physician orders, understanding medication protocols.
9. Collaborate in managing complex health issues and planning referrals.
10. Develop and enforce policies relevant to comprehensive, longitudinal care.
11. Sustain and carry out established policies and procedures.
12. Provide comprehensive care for sick children in an ambulatory setting, collaborating with responsible physicians.
13. Work with primary care physicians to develop and coordinate healthcare plans involving families and communities.
14. Participate in outreach programs, screening initiatives, and community health education.
15. Provide phone coverage during night shifts.
16. Foster teamwork principles within the healthcare team, enhancing collaboration and efficiency.
17. Perform additional duties as assigned by the CMO or CEO.
18. Act independently as specified by the NJ Board of Medical Examiners.
19. Maintain health, prevent disease, diagnose, and manage common acute and chronic illnesses in children and adults.
Requirements
* CPR Certification (Required)
* NJ Physician Assistant License (Required)
* Spanish speaking preferred
