We are a not-for-profit, community-based organisation providing education and care to children from birth to 12 years of age across Tasmania. Due to internal growth and team members moving to new roles, we have three Assistant Service Manager roles available in the Hobart area:

Acton Long Day Care

* Providing care 78 children a day from birth to 5 years across 4 programs. Offers a large paddock space for extended bush play. Service purpose built. Parking onsite.

South Hobart, Fahan & Richmond Long Day Care (Combined role across these services)

* Unique opportunity to support three of our smaller services, which include LDC and OSHC while children ranging from birth to 12 years. All located on school sites. South Hobart offers a 29 place LDC from 20 months to 5 years and a 60 place OSHC, Richmond offers a 24 place LDC and from birth to 5 years and a 30 place OSHC and Fahan offers a 25 place services for pre kinder (3 to 5 years) and OSHC

Campbell Street Long Day Care (Maximum term to Feb 2025, possibility of extension)

* Providing care for children across 5 programs from birth to 5 years, this service is located inner city, many connection to local community and connected to program such as Working together.

The Role:

As Assistant Manager, you will support the Service Manager to lead day-to-day operations and pedagogy within the service. With support from our Pedagogy & Practice team, you'll play an important role as Educational Leader, guiding curriculum planning, supporting educators, and fostering innovative practice.

This role is an excellent opportunity to step into a formal leadership position and grow your career, with responsibilities including:

* Leading high-quality educational programs informed by the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
* Supporting and mentoring educators to achieve their best practice.
* Assisting with service operations, rosters, enrolments, and compliance.
* Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
* Acting as Responsible Person when required.

What you'll bring:

We are looking for motivated professionals with:

* A Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved).
* Strong knowledge of the NQF and EYLF.
* Experience supporting or leading a team, with a collaborative and reflective approach.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* A passion forinclusion, safety, and child-centred practice.

Essential requirements include Tasmanian Registration for Working with Vulnerable People (child related activity), a current driver's licence, plus the ability to obtain a National Police Check.
