As a Medical Officer, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- Delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
- Forming part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
- Assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and providing care that will support the health and wellbeing of members pre and post deployments.
- Providing medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.
- Being supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.
- Providing services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.

In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
About Glenbrook
Glenbrook Clinic is at RAAF Base Glenbrook located in the foothills of the NSW Blue Mountains, north-west of Sydney.
You are an experienced medical professional with solid foundations as a General Practitioner.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR, Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
- Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part time equivalent).
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
Please note:
- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
