At Southern Cross Care Tasmania, we are more than an aged
care provider — we are a values-driven, not-for-profit organisation committed
to supporting older Tasmanians to live with dignity, connection and purpose.
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Business Analyst to
join our IT team and play a key role in delivering our ICT Transformation
Project. This is a technical and operationally engaged role, providing
end-to-end requirements analysis and solution design for integrated HR,
Payroll, and Rostering systems while addressing the organisation's operational,
compliance, and financial challenges.
Contract: Maximum term, 2 years
About the Role
The Business Analyst leads requirements analysis, solution
design, and implementation support across the complete project lifecycle — from
initial requirements gathering through to post-go-live support. This is not a
requirements-gathering-only role; you will remain actively engaged in
configuration workshops, UAT coordination, data migration validation, training
delivery, and BAU support.
You will work closely with the Solution Architect, Process
Architect, Project Manager, and operational stakeholders to design and deliver
solutions that address complex workforce management needs, regulatory
compliance, and award obligations across 24/7 aged care operations.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
* Lead
analysis of complex workforce management requirements, including
rostering, payroll, award compliance, and regulatory reporting
* Facilitate
requirements workshops with operational stakeholders across clinical care,
finance, and workforce management
* Develop
functional specifications, process documentation, and solution design
materials supporting HRIS configuration
* Participate
in configuration workshops and validate vendor-delivered system setups
against requirements
* Support
data migration planning, cleansing, transformation, and post-migration
validation
* Coordinate
User Acceptance Testing including test case development, execution, and
defect management
* Develop
and deliver training materials and sessions for operational users across
multiple sites
* Support
go-live activities including cutover planning, issue resolution, and
hypercare support
* Provide
post-implementation support and identify continuous improvement
opportunities
* Collaborate
with project and BAU ICT teams to ensure knowledge sharing and solution
adoption
* Contribute
to project governance including status reporting, stakeholder updates, and
quality reviews
About You
You are a hands-on, technically capable Business Analyst
with experience across the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering
to post-go-live support. You thrive in complex, compliance-heavy environments
and understand how workforce management systems directly impact care delivery
in 24/7 operations.
You will bring:
* Tertiary
qualifications or equivalent experience with proven Business Analysis
expertise
* Experience
in health, aged care, public hospitals, community health, or public sector
organisations
* Strong
understanding of industrial awards, rostering complexity, and
payroll/workforce system impact
* Demonstrated
ability to work hands-on with both project and BAU ICT teams, from
requirements through post-go-live support
Desirable
* Direct
aged care sector experience and understanding of Aged Care Quality
Standards and Fair Work obligations
* Experience
analysing workforce requirements including clinical rostering, penalty
rate calculations, and compliance reporting
* Background
supporting HRIS implementations in health, aged care, or community
services with complex award structures
* Knowledge
of the Australian aged care regulatory environment including funding
models and 24/7 care workforce requirements
