**Network Specialist Role**
This role involves performing specialist complex technical tasks on our network and providing construction and maintenance technical support.
As a Network Specialist, you will be required to investigate, evaluate, report, and provide recommendations on new technologies, plant and equipment, training, and works practices. This includes coordinating external training and delivering local training to meet operational requirements. You will also manage field resource tools and equipment within allocated budgets in an efficient and timely manner.
The role is based at our South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, with the latest infrastructure and technology empowering employees to create a perfect work-life balance. The depot operates in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Identify new technologies, plant, equipment, training, and works practices that improve operational ability
* Facilitate ongoing skill maintenance and development through training courses and competency-based assessments
* The flexibility of local trainer will enable training to be undertaken improving utilisation efficiency
* Identifying, evaluating, and implementing opportunities for improving processes, work instructions, systems, and outputs
**Requirements**
* Current trade qualifications - Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing and/or Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead or Electrical Workers Licence
* Preferably at least 6+ years specialist technical experience in networks construction, maintenance, and operations field practices and procedures
* Application of trade and post-trade skills and competencies to suit local business requirements
* Knowledge of engineering/design standards, regulations, and procedures applicable to the area
* Sound communications skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction between key stakeholders
* Specialist technical experience and demonstrated knowledge in distribution network investigating, evaluating, and reporting
* Willingness to work and travel to other depot locations as required
* Proficiency in use of key computer business systems, and competency in all major business and office software
