Work within an organisation delivering world-class research, development, extension and education to support sustainable agriculture Support the internal operations of TIA and make a meaningful contribution to a driven, collaborative team Full time, ongoing position based in Launceston About the opportunity The Administration Officer ensures TIA operates efficiently by providing coordinated Human Resources (HR) workflow support in collaboration with the Institute Coordinator and operational project coordination for the Business Manager. What you’ll do: Provide timely and accurate HR administrative support for all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in relevant University systems, monitor workflows and follow up as required. Act as a key administrative contact for HR queries within TIA. Provide project administrative support to the Business Manager, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and papers, tracking actions, and managing documentation. Coordinate confidential correspondence, briefings and reports for projects and HR matters, ensuring accuracy, professionalism and discretion. Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes. Build effective working relationships across TIA, Professional Services and central University teams. What we’re looking for: Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree or the equivalent combination of experience and education. Knowledge of University HR systems and processes in relation to recruitment, onboarding, reclassifications and position descriptions. Experience supporting projects including scheduling, tracking milestones, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining documentation. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database systems, and online workflow or project management tools. Ability to build productive working relationships across teams, stakeholders, and staff at all levels. Skilled in identifying process improvements, suggesting solutions, and implementing practical administrative enhancements. A Class ‘C’ Driver Licence valid in Australia and a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) or the willingness to obtain. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
