By joining SEE, you will help shape a university-wide approach that empowers every Griffith student to graduate with a clear sense of purpose and the skills, experience, and confidence to make a positive impact in their chosen field.Job DescriptionAs the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Operations Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of Griffith University's WIL operations. Working within the Student Experience and Employability (SEE) Portfolio, you will lead process design, workflow analysis, and system alignment activities to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality management of WIL across all Academic Groups. Your work will directly support the implementation of Griffith's University-wide WIL Operating Model, driving operational excellence, strengthening governance, and ensuring a consistent and sustainable approach to managing WIL placements and partnerships.You will: Conduct needs analyses and map WIL processes and activities to identify opportunities for improved business practices and greater consistency in delivery and monitoring. Develop and test detailed process maps, templates, and workflows that streamline operations and support a standardised approach to WIL administration across the University. Optimise and standardise placement system (Sonia) processes, workflows, and reporting to improve data accuracy, support onboarding and training, and strengthen collaboration between Academic Groups and central services. Conduct periodic audits of WIL programs to monitor compliance with University policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, ensuring alignment with institutional strategy and external quality assurance standards. Prepare high-quality reports and dashboards on WIL operational performance, including metrics such as participation, workload sustainability, parity of experience, and student and partner satisfaction, to inform continuous improvement and strategic planning. Support the monitoring and management of WIL-related risks and due diligence processes, ensuring compliance with University policy, external regulation, and good practice in governance and accountability. Contribute to the development of a streamlined infrastructure for organising and accessing WIL knowledge and service information, including the creation of self-help resources, onboarding materials, and capability-building training for staff and students. Partner effectively with academic and professional colleagues, central services, and students to co-design, develop, and evaluate WIL operational systems, processes, and resources that enhance the quality and consistency of the Griffith WIL experience.QualificationsYou are a highly organised, solutions-focused professional who builds strong, trusted relationships and works collaboratively with stakeholders to turn complex operational requirements into practical, sustainable, and compliant business practices. With experience in business analysis, process improvement, or project management—ideally within higher education—you thrive in dynamic, partnership-driven environments and are motivated by improving systems and processes in ways that genuinely enhance the experience of staff, students, and external partners.You will bring: Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, and/or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and training, enabling you to engage credibly with both technical and strategic stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in business analysis, process improvement, or project management within higher education or similarly complex operational environments, working in partnership with stakeholders to design workable, sustainable solutions.Proven ability to map, design, and optimise end-to-end business processes, collaborating with subject-matter experts to identify opportunities for system, policy, and workflow enhancements that balance efficiency, compliance, and user needs.Experience implementing or supporting enterprise systems (such as placement management platforms), working closely with system owners, users, and vendors to improve data quality, streamline operations, and support adoption.Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate data and operational insights into clear, actionable recommendations that support shared decision-making and continuous improvement.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and work collaboratively across diverse teams, disciplines, and portfolios.Additional InformationThis is a continuing full-time position and can be based at Brisbane South or Gold Coast campus.
