The Manager will be responsible for the day-to day management of the Chalet, ensuring guests' needs are met at all times while maintaining the company standards. The Manager is the lead in front of house and has an overall co-ordinating role in the chalet eg: take the lead in all customer issues.
The duties include:-
. Take reservations, greet guests and develop and maintain a helpful relationship with the guests.
. Ensure staff are well aware of all expectations.
. Be responsible for housekeeping and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation are maintained.
. Have a deep understanding of the European ski lodge tradition on which the chalet was founded.
. Be familiar with Euro-Alpine furnishings and decor in order to maintain the authentic atmosphere.
. Payroll management.
. Maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers and stakeholders.
. Be very conversant with European Schnapps and Beer styles and products as the lodge specializes in this.
Applicant should have experience in:-
. Restaurant floor work.
. Bar tending and management.
. House keeping
. Kitchen handing and kitchen work.
. Reception.
This role is physically and emotionally demanding, and the successful applicant needs to be good at working as part of a team. The lodge is open all year and the workload will vary seasonally so the successful applicant must be able to deal with the intensive seasons.
Experience in the ski industry is essential, and knowledge of European resorts is required. Applicants must be able to speak German, French and one other central European language to assist with expanding into a new market. Applicants must also be flexible in annual leave dates to fit around busy periods in the year.
