Our client is seeking an experienced Coal Mine Statutory Auditor to join their engineering team. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and safety of underground mine structures and surface infrastructure across the Illawarra region.
If you have a strong understanding of mining regulations, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to assess and report on structural risks, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the industry.
Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of underground mine structures, equipment, and surface infrastructure
Assess structural integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance
Document findings with detailed reports and high-quality photographs
Identify risks related to structural weaknesses, equipment wear, and environmental factors
Develop risk profiles and provide clear remediation recommendations
Ensure compliance with Australian mining regulations and statutory requirements
Collaborate with mine management, safety teams, and regulatory bodies to implement corrective actions
Requirements
Certificate IV in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Civil (preferred)
Minimum five years in coal mining, statutory auditing, or safety inspections
Strong understanding of mining safety regulations and risk assessment
Ability to interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and schematics
Excellent reporting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Working Conditions
Work between office, underground coal mines and washeries
Regular travel to mine sites within the Illawarra region
PPE required at all times
