The Business Support and Human Resources Officer is responsible for the delivery of operational people services, such as position occupancy management, supporting recruitment activities, assisting teams with onboarding and offboarding staff, providing learning and development support including management of ACTCT’s work experience program, and undertaking a range of reporting. The Business Support and Human Resources Officer will support the implementation of strategic human resource initiatives and provide technical advice to staff on human resource matters in line with the relevant Enterprise Agreements and legislative requirements. They will undertake a range of operational human resource functions and develop and implement people related policies and procedures. In addition, the Business Support and Human Resources Officer will provide support more broadly across other functions of the People and Governance team, including communications, secretariat support, governance and coordination, complaints management, work health and safety, and annual reporting activities. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Qualifications in human resource or business management (or similar) or equivalent experience are highly desirable. Experience in, or the ability to acquire skills in computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office suite, Records Management, Chris21 and SharePoint. To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa. If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check. This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
