Reporting to the Business Manager, SRG are seeking a capable Mechanical / Materials Testing Machinist to join the team located in regional Smithfield, NSW on a Casual basis.
If successful, you will be responsible for machining and preparing test specimens for mechanical and metallurgical testing in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Machine and prepare test specimens from metals and allows for mechanical and materials testing
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and machining specifications
* Maintain machining equipment and ensure tools are calibrated and in good working condition
The successful applicant will ideally have
* Experience oprating manual machining equipment
* Experience machining test specimens for mechanical or materials testing
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to precise dimensions
* Knowledge of machining different materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol screen
