The Role
Macquarie University Health is seeking an experienced Team Leader, Lymphoedema Therapists to join the Lymphoedema Clinic on a permanent part-time basis (up to 0.6 FTE). This role is structured as a job-share arrangement with another Team Leader, offering a collaborative leadership model with shared accountability and clearly defined responsibilities.
Reporting to the Director of the Australian Lymphoedema Education, Research and Treatment Centre (ALERT) and working closely with the Lymphoedema Practice Manager, this senior clinical leadership role provides professional, clinical and operational leadership across the lymphoedema therapy team, while contributing to the development and sustainability of specialist lymphoedema services. The role spans multiple specialist clinics (including diagnostic, surgical, lipedema and conservative services) and combines leadership responsibilities with the delivery of expert clinical care.
Key AccountabilitiesLeadership and Service Development
* Lead, supervise and support lymphoedema therapists, including performance development and workforce planning.
* Drive service development, quality improvement and efficient clinic operations.
* Contribute to ALERT and allied health leadership forums and service reporting.
* Work collaboratively within a job-share leadership model to ensure continuity of service delivery, effective decision-making and clear communication across the team.
Clinical Practice
* Provide advanced lymphoedema clinical care, including complex and specialist presentations.
* Offer clinical guidance and support across the multidisciplinary team.
* Support surgical pathways, including compression and post-operative care planning.
Education, Research and Engagement
* Coordinate education, professional development and student supervision.
* Support integration of research and quality initiatives into clinical practice.
* Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and external partners.
About You
You are an experienced lymphoedema clinician with proven leadership capability and a strong commitment to high-quality patient care, education and service improvement.
You will bring:
* Qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, with lymphoedema accreditation.
* Current AHPRA registration.
* Eligibility for membership with the Australasian Lymphology Association and NLPR listing.
* Experience leading or supervising clinical teams.
* Advanced clinical expertise in lymphoedema management.
