About the role
We are a trusted partner to mining sites across Australia and internationally, specialising in repairing and troubleshooting a wide range of rotating machinery, including draglines, shovels, and ARDVARC autonomous drilling systems.
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Field Services Engineer to join our team. In this hands-on FIFO role, you'll provide exceptional technical support to clients on-site. Every day will bring variety – whether it's testing systems, troubleshooting faults, or carrying out routine maintenance, you'll play a key role in keeping our clients' operations running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing remote and on-site technical support.
* Conducting system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
* Performing routine maintenance and ensuring reliability.
* Preparing clear and accurate technical reports.
* Building trust with client technicians and clarifying PSA's role when needed.
About You
We are seeking a hands-on engineer with a technical background in heavy mining equipment.
We're looking for more than just technical expertise – we value engineers who combine problem-solving skills with resilience, independence, and strong communication. You'll be able to explain complex issues in a clear, practical way, while building strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
What you'll bring:
* Australian-recognised Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Field Service Engineer or Technician (essential).
* Strong background in electromechanical troubleshooting, including PLCs (Studio5000/RS5000/Allen Bradley), auto-electronics, and diagnostic systems.
* Experience with automation systems (ideally autonomous mining equipment / ARDVARC ADS).
* Ability to interpret technical documentation, manage software updates, and maintain system records.
* Familiarity with safety systems and compliance in mining or heavy industry.
* Mine site experience and understanding of mining operations.
* Knowledge of mobile maintenance.
* Open Australian driver's licence.
* Self-sufficient – able to work independently onsite while knowing when to escalate or seek support.
* Problem-solver mindset – enjoys diagnosing issues, implementing solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
