Position Details

Primary Role: REFOCUS Senior Support Coordinator for Out of Homes Care

Work Location: Nambour, Sunshine Coast

Employment Type: Permanent Part time, 4 days

Salary Range: $38 - $54 p/h - subject to Award Rate [MA000100]

Qualification & Experience: Certificate or Diploma or Tertiary qualifications In Human Services or a related discipline AND/OR Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the supports sector

Key Responsibilities

•Manage staff delivery of high-quality care and support services, that promote the wellbeing, safety and welfare of children and young people according to their choices and goals

•Building, leading and managing a vibrant, cohesive, dedicated and skilled team of staff

•Collaborate with the Team Leader and Regional Managers to assist in the development and implementation of trauma informed Care Plans

•ensuring the young people are supported during their time within the program

•overseeing the operational activities of the houses and staff

•provide hands-on leadership and support

•use clinical knowledge to identify opportunities to improve outcomes

•report on outcome measures in collaboration of the multi-disciplinary team

Key Selection Criteria

•Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin REFOCUS vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally

•Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander & Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander & Torres Strait Islander communities

•Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management, ability to use initiative, thinking laterally and strategically during times of pressure

•Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills: verbal, active listening, written with a variety of stakeholders within the community, including skills in negotiation

•Demonstrated ability in time management and organisational skills

•Experience and sound understanding of computer data bases such as Caremaster, Practice Hub, Microsoft office packages

•A sound knowledge and understanding of issues, policies, legislation and practices in relation to child and family welfare and in particular, children in out-of-home care.

•An ability to work effectively with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander & Torres Strait Islander orgaisations, government departments and community service organisations and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander & Torres Strait Islander families

•Experience in working within a variety of frameworks and models; trauma informed practice, critical reflective practice, cultural imbedded frameworks, best interests of the child, child centred practice, case management principles

•Must possess or be eligible for a Blue Card
