We are now seeking a Senior Health Economist to join our collaborative and impact-driven team.
The Role
As a Senior Health Economist at HT ANALYSTS, you will lead the design, execution, and communication of economic evaluations that inform policy, access, and investment decisions. You’ll work across a diverse range of disease areas and product types, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health, public health programs, and social interventions. and play a key role in shaping strategy and mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and adapt cost-effectiveness analyses (e.g. cost-utility analyses, Markov models, partitioned survival, decision trees)
* Lead development of economic evaluations for HTA submissions to PBAC, MSAC, Pharmac, MDHTAC and other agencies.
* Apply economic methods to broader frameworks such as SROI and impact assessment.
* Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences through reports and presentations.
* Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness, and relevance.
* Contribute to client relationships, business development, and proposal writing.
* Support internal capability-building and mentoring of junior staff.
About You
You’re a curious and detail-oriented health economist who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a real-world difference through rigorous, applied economic analysis.
Essential Qualifications And Experience
* Master’s degree or PhD in health economics, economics, public health, or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in HEOR, consulting, academia, pharmaceutical/medtech or similar industry.
* Strong technical expertise in economic modelling (Excel, TreeAge, R, or similar platforms).
* Practical experience preparing submissions for HTA agencies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams.
Desirable
* Experience with SROI, impact assessment, or value frameworks.
* Peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations.
* Experience in biostatistics, particularly applied to clinical trial data or real-world evidence.
