Overview
The Fertiliser Operator is responsible for fertiliser coordination and delivery in Kununurra, supporting all operational activities. Reporting to the Operations Foreman, this role requires daily communication to ensure smooth business operations. Operating heavy plant and forklifts, strict compliance with all ORDCO WH&S systems is essential for on-site safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage fertiliser stocks to keep products clean, dry, and ready for use.
* Precisely mix and load fertiliser blends as ordered by farmers, using Komatsu loaders, forklifts, batch blending units, and overhead storage bins.
* Load bulk tippers, bulka bags, flat decks, or deliver directly to sites via the Ordco semi.
* Receive incoming products, ensuring quality is maintained, coordinating with admin for weights and deliveries, and Foreman for storage and dispatch.
* Undertake stocktakes, perform stock zeroing when possible, and report shortages proactively.
* Maintain accurate mixing and delivery records, providing them to the weighbridge/admin team for invoicing.
* Support all yard operations safely, identifying non-compliance and ensuring adherence to ORDCO WH&S policies.
* Carry out maintenance and maintenance support as directed by the Foreman.
* Engage with customers and suppliers in a professional and friendly manner.
* Support off-site operations when required, including at Wyndham, and work outside normal hours when farm activities demand.
* Perform any other tasks necessary for smooth and effective site operations.
Qualifications
* Experience operating heavy plant and forklifts.
* Ability to precisely mix and load fertiliser blends and to work with batch blending units and storage bins.
* Experience with stock management, quality checks, and coordination with admin for weights and deliveries.
* Strong adherence to ORDCO WH&S policies and safety practices.
* Willingness to perform maintenance and maintenance support as directed by the Foreman.
* Professional and courteous communication with customers and suppliers; ability to engage in off-site operations and occasional after-hours work as required.
* Flexibility to work at other sites (e.g., Wyndham) and to participate in tasks outside standard hours as farm activities demand.
