About This Role
This position is for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist who can provide high-quality communication services to young people in detention centers. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders in youth.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of young people's communication skills
* Develop associated reports which inform referrals and interventions in both detention and community-based settings
* Implement high-quality interventions with young people to improve their understanding, expressive language, literacy, social skills, and daily functioning
The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex trauma, mental health, and disabilities on communication skills. They should also be able to lead, plan, coordinate, and facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
* Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
* Registration with the relevant professional body
* Experience working with young people in detention centers
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
