We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect to join our dynamic team. The Enterprise Architect will play a crucial role in providing the technical leadership and strategic direction for the technologies, standards and architectures for all related Store services. As a thought leader you will build and maintain a holistic view of the organisational IT strategy, processes, rules, standards and information technology assets, ensuring that the business and IT are in alignment. Linking the business mission and strategy of the organisation to the IT strategy and One Endeavour transformation program outcomes.
Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role :
Strategic Architecture & Roadmap :
Contribute to the Stores Technology Tower's architecture peer group, shaping strategy and roadmaps.
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture for Stores Operations, encompassing business, information, application, and technology domains.
Collaborate with business leaders to align technology strategies with business goals.
Create and manage technology roadmaps with Solution Managers, outlining the evolution of solutions to meet current and future needs.
Develop domain architecture service offerings aligned with enterprise architecture practices and governance.
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps supporting transformation activities and implementation of IT programs.
Architectural Guidance & Standards :
Provide architectural guidance to Solution, Data, and Technical architects for projects and initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Define and enforce technology standards, best practices, and architectural principles.
Review IT programs / projects for compliance and integration with existing architectures.
Provide guidance and direction for design and implementation of development frameworks and design patterns.
Risk Management & Compliance :
Identify and mitigate technology risks, ensuring security and compliance.
Collaborate with Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Platform, and Risk / Portfolio teams to manage and track risks.
Assess technical risks associated with proposed architectures and provide mitigation strategies.
Evaluate and select technology vendors and solutions that align with organizational needs and budget.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication :
Facilitate communication and collaboration with Stores teams, business units, and external partners.
Educate and raise awareness of enterprise architecture principles.
Collaborate with peers, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of enterprise architectures to technical solutions with business objectives and requirements.
Liaise with third parties and other vendors and act as the lead technical representative for the enterprise data and architecture initiatives.
Documentation & Knowledge Management :
Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, models, and policies.
Maintain corporate information and knowledge of the organisation's strategic business plans, its program / project portfolio and priorities.
Undertake high-level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future IT trends, capabilities, and assess and explain the value of existing investments and emerging technologies.
Technical Leadership :
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Work with the internal program and project resources; such as other enterprise architects, program and solutions architects, developers and development teams to develop and then implement proposed enterprise data architectures and solutions within agreed timeframes.
Performance Monitoring :
Monitor and report on enterprise architecture and strategic project delivery, adjusting activities as needed.
Leadership Behaviors :
Role model, promote, and actively demonstrate leading behaviors to deliver organisational outcomes.
What do we need from you
Now let’s talk about you :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
At least 10 years experience working as an Enterprise Architect or similar capacity having worked on large projects and Business as Usual (BAU) functions.
5-10 years of relevant experience in IT architecture or related roles gained within Retail, Venues and preferably large, complex environments.
Experience or background with Retail technology - Point-of-Sale, Loyalty and ERP systems.
Experience working at a senior or executive level in a complex organisation delivering specialist and authoritative advice to executive leadership.
Experience in the following technologies / frameworks :
Zachman and / or TOGAF
ITIL, ITSM and / or COBIT
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC); and
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Experience using cloud-based solutions and “as a service” architectures.
Experience using Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software applications and products.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written documentation in a timely manner and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels.
Strong experience in writing and editing a range of high-level technical documentation to a publishable standard.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to undertake objective, critical analysis to draw accurate conclusions that recognise and manage contextual issues. Also, in looking for opportunities to design innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organisation.
Knowledge of emerging technologies, digital solutions, cyber security, and IT industry market trends.
