The Opportunity:
Under broad supervision this position is responsible for the provision of specialist engineering services related to marine/mechanical engineering in the support of the material remediation of the configuration baseline of the ACSSPO.
Responsibilities
1. Investigate shortcomings in design, materials and system performance against contract specifications and participate in the development of solutions to resolve the problems.
2. Review and comment on engineering changes, including supporting ILS documentation.
3. Liaise with multiple stakeholders including ACSSPO staff, LHD ship’s staff, the In-service Support Contractor (Navantia), OEMs and Lloyd’s Register in the course of your duties.
4. Participate in the development and conduct of tests and trials to determine system performance against design intent.
5. Provide specialist advice in support of the RP team members engaged in multi-disciplinary projects.
6. Produce detailed technical reports and associated documentation as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
7. Degree in electrical engineering.
8. 8 years plus experience, preferably in a naval engineering environment.
9. Able to work with in the Seaworthiness Management System.
10. Qualified to hold a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) delegation
Mandatory Requirements
11. Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA NV1 clearance at minimum
