- Expected salary: $38 - $40 per hour
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to dispatch calls for towing and recovery services.
- Safely load and secure vehicles onto the tow truck using approved methods and equipment.
- Transport vehicles to designated locations such as repair shops, impound lots, or customer homes.
- Recover vehicles from various terrains, including highways, parking lots, and off-road areas.
- Provide courteous and qualified customer service, explain towing procedures and any associated fees clearly and accurately, and handle complaints with empathy and professionalism.
- Inspect tow trucks and equipment regularly to ensure safe and efficient operation; perform routine maintenance tasks and report mechanical issues to supervisors.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and insurance companies when required.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on tow truck size and weight.
- Experience and Skills: Prior experience operating tow trucks or similar heavy equipment is advantageous; knowledge of vehicle mechanics and towing equipment; strong problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Work Environment
- Operate in all weather conditions and potentially hazardous locations; handle emergency situations during night shifts or weekends; work in high-traffic areas.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects, prolonged driving and standing, and manual dexterity for operating tools and machinery.
Further Details
- $38 - $40 per hour; Full time
- Monday to Friday; Weekend Work
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- On-Call 4:45 PM to 7:45 AM (Extra Allowance)
