**OVERVIEW**
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Communications and Stakeholder Engagements Officer to join their team at the APS5-EL1 level. Within this role you will draw on excellent judgement and strategic nous to provide campaign design and advice on complex and sensitive matters relating to Australia's development program and policy interests.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Help implement a communications strategy to support the launch of the government's new international development strategy.
- Transform complex development content into succinct results-based Ministerial products for websites, social media, campaigns and multimedia products.
- Manage/assist with events and stakeholder engagement around the new policy in liaison with international development partners and agencies, think tanks, private sector, academic institutions, diplomatic core, government departments, managing contractors and external suppliers.
- Project manage/support the alignment of stakeholder engagement with wider strategic intent.
- Manage/support media, with monitoring and alerts, liaison, briefings, and responses.
- Write communications including briefings, cables, internal and public facing products for traditional and digital channels targeting domestic and international audiences.
- Oversee production of visuals, graphic design and multimedia communications promoting the value of Australia's international development program.
- Oversee APS procurement and contract management processes for administered and departmental budget allocations.
- Assist the strategic policy section to define shape the new international development narrative and shape internal communications for departmental alignment.
- Conduct internal and external campaign monitoring and evaluation, including desktop and public research.
**EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS**
- Have strong professional judgement and excellent management/support, liaison, representation and written skills.
- Be motivated and highly independent with proven ability to convert analysis into effective and impactful communication products and strategies.
- Be a team player, able to build and coordinate networks and engage stakeholders.
- Have strong political nous and an understanding of the interplay between Australia's development, political, economic and security interests in a regional and domestic context, with horizon and risk-scanning abilities.
- Qualifications (or equivalent experience) in a degree/diploma or postgraduate diploma with a major in journalism, editing, strategic communications, public relations, marketing. Experience in government communications essential.
