With a strong commitment to service delivery and infrastructure improvement, the team is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to support strategic and operational outcomes.
Your new role
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a key role in shaping policy and operational procedures that support the effective management of physical assets. Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will lead stakeholder engagement, provide high-level advice, and contribute to the development of programs and initiatives that impact infrastructure and service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading engagement with internal and external stakeholders to develop policy, procedures, and communications.
* Conducting research and analysis to support asset management strategies, maintenance programs, and infrastructure initiatives.
* Preparing high-quality briefings, reports, and correspondence with a focus on operational implementation.
* Providing strategic advice to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
* Collaborating across teams and service providers to resolve complex enquiries and support program delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience working in government, ideally within the education sector.
* Proven background in policy development or as a Policy Officer.
* Strong investigative mindset with the ability to analyse complex issues and recommend practical solutions.
* High-level written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing ministerial briefings and executive correspondence.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage high volumes of ministerial and Chief Executive enquiries.
* Excellent team player with a collaborative approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Sound understanding of government processes, including Cabinet and parliamentary systems.
* A current Working with Children Check is required for this role.
