About the Role
Flinders University is seeking a Lecturer in Sustainable Marine Industries to deliver high-quality teaching and research across the natural sciences, with particular emphasis on applied marine ecology and sustainable marine systems.
As a Teaching and Research Academic, you will:
* Deliver inspiring teaching in natural science topics, particularly applied marine ecology, using contemporary, multi-mode teaching approaches.
* Make independent and high-quality contributions to research through publications, external grant applications, and research student supervision.
* Strengthen and expand partnerships with industry, government, and professional organisations to enrich teaching, learning and research outcomes.
* Contribute to the supervision of research student programs.
About You
You are a collaborative, student-centred educator and researcher, committed to advancing sustainable marine science and delivering engaging learning experiences. You bring strong communication skills, a collegial mindset, and the ability to contribute to high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
Depending on your career stage, you will also demonstrate:
* A completed or near completed PhD or equivalent in applied marine ecology, marine science, environmental science, or a related discipline.
* Evidence of high-quality teaching in the tertiary environment, including topic coordination or curriculum design in applied marine ecology or natural sciences.
* A developing or established research track record (relative to career stage) in sustainable marine industries or applied marine ecology/science, including publications and competitive grant success.
* Experience supervising Honours or HDR students (desirable).
* Capacity to contribute to curriculum review and accreditation activities (desirable).
