About the opportunity
To provide general chair-side support to Dental Officers and Oral Health Therapists, to ensure that dental treatment provided is of the highest standard. Perform other support duties such as maintenance of instruments and equipment, ordering of clinical consumables and stock control, to ensure that dental treatment is provided effectively and efficiently.
Assist in the provision of general practitioner services within the delivery system for oral health care to eligible clients throughout the Hospital and Health Service.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent full-time role, based in Ayr (North Queensland).

Salary range: $ $ p.f. (CA3)
4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
Locality allowance

Requirements:
Certificate III in Dental Assisting is mandatory for the CA3 position. However, if Certificate III in Dental Assisting has not been completed, then appointment will be at CA2 classification in the Dental Assistant Training position until successful completion of the qualification within 12 months of appointment.
Possession of a 'C' Class drivers licence is highly desirable.
Undertake training and travel associated within Townsville Hospital and Health Service Policy.
Working across the different clinics in the Townsville region is a requirement of this role and the potential of an overnight travel to our Hughenden, Richmond and Palm Island clinics.
Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
