The role oversees construction, maintenance and service programs, ensuring high‐quality, cost‐effective outcomes that enhance the safety, functionality and longevity of the city's assets.Key responsibilities and outcomes:Provide strategic leadership to shape Branch planning and contribute to the delivery of Council's Corporate and Operational Plan priorities.Lead the development and implementation of Branch strategies, business plans and key projects, ensuring they are future focused, integrated and responsive to community needsOversee Branch budgeting, financial performance and resource planning to ensure cost-effective, value for money service delivery.Build and lead a capable, engaged and safety focused workforce, driving performance, professional development, collaboration and a strong customer centric culture.Manage Branch operations, programs and projects to ensure high quality services, effective risk management, continuous improvement and alignment with organisational objectives.Building strong relationships with Councillors, The Executive Leadership Team, internal partners and community stakeholders through proactive engagement and clear communication.Provide high quality professional advice, reports and insights to support informed decision making across Council.Championing strong governance, compliance and workplace health and safety practices across all Branch activities.The role requires:A degree in Engineering, with RPEQ registration and eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.Extensive experience delivering transport infrastructure projects, maintenance programs and related services in a complex environment.Strong capability to lead change and respond to social, economic, environmental and political factors influencing transport service delivery.Proven experience in planning, coordinating and delivering major infrastructure programs, including project planning, budgeting and oversight.Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective partnerships, networks and stakeholder relationships.A track record of inspiring, developing and supporting staff, and fostering a high-performance, accountable and customer focused culture.Experience leading organisational culture initiatives that drive engagement, performance and service excellence.Strong capability in ensuring safe work and wellbeing practices.Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience working in a complex, multichannel, customer centric environment.Post‐graduate qualifications in management or project management (highly desirable).You are a seasoned executive leader who brings a values driven approach to shaping culture, performance and service excellence.
