A leading organization is currently seeking a highly skilled Compute - Infrastructure Operations SME to lead and oversee a team responsible for managing and optimizing mission-critical IT infrastructure. This role plays a central part in ensuring the availability, performance, and compliance. Please note NV1 Clearance is a must have requirment for this role. Position Overview: In this senior-level role, the SME will act as a key technical authority, guiding infrastructure strategy, automation, and cloud adoption across complex, hybrid environments. The position requires hands-on expertise in platforms such as VMware, AWS, and Azure, along with strong scripting and automation capabilities. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in ITIL best practices and demonstrate a proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver improvements in operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of Infrastructure Analysts and Coordinators to maintain consistent service delivery. Serve as the escalation point for advanced infrastructure issues, including incident resolution and change implementation. Oversee system availability and performance across test, pre-production, and production environments. Collaborate closely with security, application, and DevOps teams to build and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions. Provide expert-level guidance on automation, cloud strategies, and infrastructure optimization. Manage monitoring tools and processes to enable proactive detection and resolution of issues. Ensure adherence to ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management. Lead stakeholder engagement to communicate infrastructure health, risks, and project updates. Oversee capacity management and cost control across both on-premise and cloud infrastructure. Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and provide on-call support as required. Drive automation using tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, Python, and shell scripting. Maintain detailed documentation, SOPs, and internal knowledge bases. Support infrastructure lifecycle activities including patching, OS upgrades, and hardware refreshes. Manage and optimize hybrid cloud and multi-vendor environments. Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in Infrastructure Support, IT Operations, or a related field. Deep technical expertise in VMware, AWS, and Microsoft Azure. Strong scripting and automation proficiency (Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash). Experience with Windows Server and Linux OS administration (RHEL, CentOS, Debian). Familiarity with managing databases in infrastructure environments (Oracle, SQL). Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios, Prometheus). Solid understanding of ITIL frameworks; ITIL v4 certification is preferred. Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage teams and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
