About your new role
As a Systems Administrator: Servers, you’ll be responsible for the build, deployment and support of Microsoft Windows Servers, ensuring high levels of reliability, security, and performance. This role will focus on a major operating system upgrade project while also contributing to BAU second and third-level support for servers, identity systems and applications. You’ll need the technical expertise, change management discipline and communication skills to deliver outcomes in a critical government environment.
Key tasks
- Building, configuring and supporting Windows Servers (2019/2022/2025)
- Completing server deployments, patching and lifecycle maintenance
- Applying strong change management practices with explicit communication to stakeholders
- Partnering with business and project teams to deliver server infrastructure upgrades
- Providing third-level support and advice to the Service Desk and IT teams
- Documenting technical standards and operational procedures
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and deployment
- Proven skills in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM), Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS
- Solid understanding of change management and ITIL processes
- Strong communication skills, able to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience across both government and commercial/regulated environments is highly regarded
- A collaborative, self-driven style: able to contribute ideas without disrupting team cohesion
Desirable experience includes:
- VMware vSphere and virtual server operations
- TLS certificate lifecycle management
- Identity systems (Active Directory, EntraID, Okta)
- Linux (especially SUSE Linux Enterprise Server)
What’s on offer?
- Role Title: Systems Administrator Servers
- Contract Length: Late October 2025 till 30 June 2026 (with extension potential)
- Pay: $900 – $950 per day + Super
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: Hybrid, Greenacre base (2–3 office days per week)
