Your Role
UPT is currently seeking to fill the position of Body Builder/ Welder / Boilermaker.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for working in a highly industrial manufacturing environment with the aim of ensuring customer satisfaction through attention to detail and continuous improvement ensuring quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Semi Trailer Body Builder/ Welder / Boilermaker, you will play a crucial role in constructing and assembling a range of semi-trailers, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards.
- Fabricate and assemble trailer bodies, including structural components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate assembly.
- Inspect and check finished trailer bodies to guarantee they meet all quality standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the efficient and timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ability to innovate and contribute to business growth and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Qualified vehicle body builder / welder / Boilermaker.
- Maintaining timing, efficiency and high quality standards.
- Experience as a Semi Trailer Body Builder or similar role in the manufacturing industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of materials, consumables, tools, and techniques used in trailer body construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Effective communication with colleagues and supervisors to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, such as MIG is essential.
- The ability to identify and solve fabrication-related problems and challenges is valuable in this role.
- Precision and attention to detail are critical for ensuring that trailer bodies meet safety and UPT High quality standards.
