About the roleIn this role, you will work as part of a team to achieve targeted levels of plant availability through planned preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as skilled response to urgent plant issues. This is a permanent, full-time day shift position.Key responsibilitiesComplete repair and maintenance work orders to a high standard and in a timely manner.Utilise and update maintenance reporting systems.Install, maintain, and repair instruments and control systems.Manage asset strategy, corrective maintenance, and additional tasks through internalisation of site services and breakdown support.Support the site team as needed.Ensure compliance with all company policies, WH&S rules, and regulations, prioritising safety.Candidate requirementsInstrumentation Fitter trade qualified - Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or Certificate IV in Electrical - Instrumentation.Electrical licence is highly regarded.Gas Type B competency preferred.Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications are desirable.Experience in fault finding, equipment maintenance, and installation.Experience with SCADA, DCS, or PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).Strong technical and electrical skills.A self-starter with a drive to complete tasks and go beyond expectations.Key benefitsEmployee Benefits Program: Discounts on a wide range of products and services from brands like Samsung, Coles, Harvey Norman, and more.Corporate health insurance rates: Discounted private health insurance through Nib.Employee Assistance Program: Confidential counselling and support services through Converge International.About usLiberty Primary Steel operates the historic Whyalla Steelworks, approximately 400km from Adelaide.
