About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transportation Policy Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping transportation policy and planning initiatives that benefit our community.
You will be responsible for developing and managing credible projects that support our objectives in transport affordability, community connectedness, and promoting alternatives to driving.
Your work will directly contribute to our vision of creating a safer, more sustainable, and connected future for Western Australians.
As a senior member of our team, you will lead projects and research that influence transport planning and policy across WA, while building strong relationships with government, industry, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage credible projects that support our objectives relating to transport affordability, community connectedness, and promoting alternatives to driving.
* Prepare position papers, reports, submissions, and presentations for publication and media release.
* Identify and advocate for strategic transport infrastructure priorities that benefit our members and the broader community.
* Manage operational programs, including the Member Priorities Tracker survey.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with government, industry, and community stakeholders.
* Represent us on external committees and working groups, delivering presentations as required.
* Provide expert responses to transport-related queries from members and external organisations.

About You:
We're looking for a strategic thinker with a passion for transport planning and policy. You'll have:
* A tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning, transport planning, public policy, social research or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in research, policy development, and advocacy.
* A strong understanding of transport planning, urban planning, and public policy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling reports and presentations that are tailored to the audience.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects (including overseeing external consultants) and deliver results.
* Great attention to detail.
* A collaborative approach to working, and experience leading other people.
* Strong relationship-building skills, with experience engaging government and industry stakeholders.
* A high level of professionalism and integrity.
* Availability to attend functions and events, as well as occasional regional or interstate travel.
