Salary: $77,000 – $82,000 + Superannuation
About the Role
We are seeking a creative and skilled Web Designer to join our growing team in Ballarat Central. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining websites that combine strong functionality with a visually compelling user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and create engaging, user-friendly website layouts and interfaces.
- Develop and implement web pages using appropriate design tools, scripting, and coding standards.
- Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and optimised for multiple devices and browsers.
- Test websites for usability, performance, and compliance with standards.
- Maintain and update existing websites, making improvements to content, functionality, and design.
- Collaborate with developers, content creators, and clients to ensure websites meet project requirements.
- Integrate multimedia elements, graphics, and animations where needed.
- Apply SEO principles and best practices to improve website ranking and visibility.
- Monitor web traffic, analyse user behaviour, and recommend design enhancements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and technologies in web design and UX/UI.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Web Design, Multimedia, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional web design experience.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and responsive web design.
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla).
- Knowledge of SEO practices and website optimisation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, creative, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
