Maintenance Electrician - Afternoon Shift

A leading national manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team based in Preston, VIC. This is a permanent full-time opportunity working an afternoon shift from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, offering excellent hourly rates, stable long-term employment, and the opportunity to work within a modern manufacturing workplace.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring plant equipment and machinery are maintained to the highest standard to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative and pre-planned maintenance activities.
* Attend and resolve electrical breakdowns and faults.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and control system issues.
* Maintain and repair manufacturing plant equipment.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
* Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
Skills & Experience
* Current VIC Electrical Licence (essential).
* Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Robust knowledge of AC motors, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), PLCs, HMIs, and control circuits.
* Experience with fault finding and diagnostics.
* Solid understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
* Strong commitment to workplace safety.
