The Role
Under the direction and mentorship of the Commercial Manager and GM Finance, the Finance Business Partner will offer financial support, counsel, and analysis to the Executive Team to enhance financial and commercial performance, as well as provide strategic insights to facilitate business understanding and subsequent growth.
The role will assist with supporting the financial operations with robust financial analysis, driving process improvement, overseeing program delivery, assisting with budgeting cycles and performance reporting.
The role has the following key duties and responsibilities:
* Provide timely and accurate financial and operational analysis, delivering actionable insights to drive performance.
* Manage the development and execution of portfolio action plans to enhance financial outcomes.
* Collaborate in the preparation and review of annual site and portfolio budgets, as well as quarterly and weekly financial forecasts.
* Maintain and improve portfolio cash conversion through effective relationship management between the business units, and head office.
* Oversee portfolio capital expenditure, ensuring thorough business case reviews and necessary approvals.
* Support financial hygiene efforts by conducting P&L and Balance Sheet reviews.
* Attend specific sites throughout Australia as required, providing on-the-ground financial support.
* Develop and leverage a strong network within the business to foster collaboration and success.
* Approve and review month-end journals exceeding site-level delegations.
Experience Required
* Degree in Accounting or Business.
* CA or CPA qualification.
* Over 3 years of experience in Finance, Commercial, or Analyst roles, with preferred experience in management reporting, financial planning, or commercial analysis.
Competencies
* Demonstrated expertise in analysing complex financial and operational data to drive solutions.
* Ability to think strategically, operationally, and conceptually to solve multi-faceted problems.
* Extensive financial and management accounting knowledge.
* Proficient in budget management and KPIs.
* Skilled in report and business case writing.
* Advanced software application and data analysis skills.
* Experience with accounting and reporting systems, including dashboards.
* Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills and the ability to work independently.
