As the primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors, and individuals.
THE ROLE
Responsible for raising capital and managing wholesale adviser relationships across Australia and New Zealand for the firm's private markets strategies, including private equity, infrastructure, private credit, and others.
This role focuses on distribution, strategic client coverage, and capital formation across key Third Party Wealth (TPW) segments such as private banks, and financial advisers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Capital raising initiatives for private markets funds.
* Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans across Australia and New Zealand.
* Identify new investor opportunities across wholesale channels.
Client Relationship Management
* Manage relationships with key investors including:
o Private banks
o Financial Advisers
o Wealth platforms
o Researchers
o Investment consultants
* Organize regular portfolio updates, share market insights, and deliver product presentations.
* Conduct investor meetings, roadshows, and presentations.
* Work closely with portfolio managers and investment teams to communicate investment strategies and performance.
* Support due diligence processes with prospective investors.
Strategic Distribution
* Develop deep knowledge of the firm's private markets platform.
* Identify opportunities for cross-selling private equity, infrastructure, and private credit strategies.
* Track industry trends and competitor fundraising activity.
Internal Collaboration
* Partner with:
o Investment teams
o Product specialists
o Marketing
o Capital formation
* Provide market intelligence to inform product development.
Experience
* 8 plus years experience in adviser distribution, capital raising, or private markets sales
* Strong knowledge of:
o Private equity
o Infrastructure
o Private credit
o Real assets
* Existing relationships with Australian financial adviser and wealth platforms
Technical Knowledge
* Understanding of:
o Fund structures (LP/GP, co-investments, secondaries)
o Portfolio construction
o Private market performance metrics (IRR, MOIC)
