Master 4 - Skipper
Petuna is seeking an experienced Master 4 - Skipper to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is situated at our Aquaculture Farm in Macquarie Harbour at Strahan.
The successful candidate will work on a roster that consists of 6 twelve-hour day shifts and 2 six-hour shifts over 8 days, with 6 full days off each fortnight. If required accommodation will be provided when on shift.
The shift pattern enables drive-in-drive-out; however, locals and applicants willing to relocate are strongly encouraged to apply. If local, we would consider a 7 on 7 off roster pattern.
Duties
Reporting to the Shift Operations Manager, key duties and responsibilities for the role include:
* Pilot/Skipper vessels for harvesting and logistical needs of the marine farm.
* Assist with daily checks and regular maintenance of vessels they operate.
* Assist in the work tasks as an operations crew member.
* Assist with setting up nets, net changes, net removals.
* Taking smolts to sea.
* Assist with grading efforts.
* Assist with harvesting and harvest related tasks.
* Manage the crew on vessel to complete tasks.
Qualifications Required
* Marine Engine Driver 3 minimum
* Master up to 45m Near Coastal
* High Risk Work Licence for Vehicle Loading Cranes
* Strong commitment to safety for self and fellow team members.
* Ability to communicate clearly and precisely and make good judgements.
* Current right to work in Australia.
