This challenging and rewarding role involves assessing safety and risk to children and young people as part of a collaborative service model.
Caseworkers will undertake assessments to identify and address safety and risk concerns, engaging in practice that acknowledges culture and context. Responsibilities include sourcing information, making evidence-based decisions, modeling ethical casework, building relationships, developing networks, participating in continuous learning, maintaining accurate records, and initiating action in the court as required.
This role requires confidence, curiosity, and resilience. Essential requirements include minimum 2 years experience in statutory child protection services, preferred completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science and Welfare, and identity as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander with strong connection to community.
