We have delivered outcomes on programs such as Azure Stack Hub, Azure Protected, OpenStack Protected, Secret Cloud, and major national security system uplifts, and continue to play a pivotal role in evolving sovereign cloud capability.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Cloud Subject Matter Expert (Cloud SME) to oversee the administration, deployment, and optimisation of cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and VMware platforms.
In this role, you will support a high-impact private sector program with a global leader in secure communications and satellite technologies.
Your expertise will be critical in ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient cloud operations for both commercial and government clients.
As a Cloud SME, you will manage day-to-day cloud operations, implement best practices for security and compliance, and drive continual improvement across multi-cloud environments.
You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.Engagement DetailsContract: 12 months, with possible extensionsLocation: NSWKey ResponsibilitiesHelp manage and maintain cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and VMware, supporting day-to-day operations and improvements.Work with internal teams and stakeholders to deploy, configure, and optimise cloud solutions.Use monitoring tools (like Azure Monitor and AWS CloudWatch) to keep systems running smoothly and efficiently.Support identity management and security controls, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.Assist with the deployment and management of virtual desktops and cloud infrastructure.Contribute to the design and maintenance of secure networking and cloud environments.Participate in troubleshooting, incident response, and problem-solving to keep services reliable.Help implement process improvements and support change management activities.Collaborate on documentation and share knowledge with the team.Stay up to date with new cloud technologies and best practices.What You'll NeedExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and M365 in a professional environment.Familiarity with key services in AWS (like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch) and Azure (such as Compute, Networking, Azure AD).
Some hands-on experience with VMware environments.Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM) and scripting (Bash or PowerShell) is a plus.A proactive approach to troubleshooting and a willingness to learn new technologies.Understanding of cloud networking principles and security best practices.Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and contribute to team goals.An active NV1 security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one).
