The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Approvals Advisor who will be responsible for managing the regulatory environmental approvals and compliance requirements to support site activities, new projects, and company growth. This position will also manage fit-for-purpose environmental approvals and compliance capabilities and processes within the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the identification, interpretation and communication of environmental regulatory approvals requirements to enable new projects to be developed and current projects remain compliant to regulatory requirements.
* Oversee and manage baseline environment studies are completed to support approval applications necessary for activities to be undertaken at company sites.
* Lead the preparation, review and submission of environment approval applications, including Mining Proposals, Mine Closure Plans, Works Approvals, and relevant operating licences.
* Manage negotiation and communication with regulatory bodies during the approvals process.
* Provide support with community consultation commitments for current and anticipated activities, to ensure legal compliance and to maintain good relationships with the local community and stakeholders.
* Maintain the Environment Legal Compliance database.

About You

* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Science or equivalent.
* Experience working in environmental approvals and compliance within with knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation applicable to the mining and exploration industry in WA.
* Strong knowledge of environmental baseline assessment requirements to support the planning of approvals.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior environmental team members.
* Experience in environmental monitoring in aspects including but not limited to dust, water, flora/fauna and other.
* Experience in compilation and submission of environmental approvals.
* Experience with compliance auditing and reporting.
* Exposure to environmental management systems.

Location & Roster:

Monday–Friday, corporate-based role in our Perth office on Murray Street.
