A great career opportunity is now available for a Communications Manager to lead a small team responsible for the internal and external public relations and communications functions to support the implementation of the Board's policies, goals and activities.
Working closely with the CEO and Chairman, you will be a member of the CANEGROWERS Senior Leadership Team and you will be responsible for the following:
- Strategic communications management
- Maintenance of the organisation's image as the leading organisation in an key industry and reliable source of sugar industry information
- Providing services to district offices to meet local media requirements
- Developing and maintaining relationships with media professionals and outlets
- Management of the communications budget
- Writing talking points, information updates and other promotional materials
- Oversight of sponsorship programs and merchandising/branding activities
- Identifying and implementing media and public relations opportunities
Key to your success will be a strong background in strategic media management and communications and journalism, ideally in the agribusiness sector. You should be able to liaise with a range of stakeholders including cane growers, government officials, elected representatives and staff, media representatives, business leaders and staff.
